NI_Budget_D4

Introduction

The beaches stormed by American soldiers on D-Day are something everyone should see once in their life. Our 4-day Normandy Invasion on a Budget Tour is a price-conscious opportunity to visit all the must-see sites related to the great invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe. It’s a bite-size budget version of our acclaimed 9-day WW2 Bucket list on a Budget Tour and still contains all the locations you must absolutely visit to pay your respects to the struggle of the Greatest Generation in WWII. It's the perfect tour to tack to the end or beginning of a stay in Paris on your own, making it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the busy or budget-conscious.

Itinerary

  • Passengers are greeted at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris and transferred by coach to Normandy. In the evening there is an introduction to the tour and a chance for the passengers to introduce themselves.

  • We start the day with exploring Utah Beach and its many monuments. We stop near Brecourt Manor, the site of Easy Company’s famous assault on a German artillery position. We then head to Sainte-Mere-Eglise, where John Steele got caught on the steeple of the church. We finish the day at a part of the Atlantic Wall: the German battery of Longues-sur-Mer with its 152 mm guns still where they were silenced over 70 years ago.

  • We begin the day with a visit to Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. We then travel to the town of Arromanches-les-Bains where the remnants of the Mulberry Harbor can still be seen. The day continues with a trip to Pointe du Hoc, where Rudder’s Rangers ascended the steep cliffs to take out the long-range artillery firing on the landing beaches.

  • After saying goodbye our guests are taken to Paris airport for their return flights.
